CHAPEL STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

My name is Michael Hurley, the founder and owner of Chapel Street Photography. I opened this shop with the sole intention to use my eclectic style of photography to make people feel...well whatever it is they need to feel. In an era of disposable, seconds-long, nonsensical videos invading pop culture, the Chapel Street crew believes in slowing down the scroll rate a bit.

There is something so fascinating to me about capturing an unrepeatable moment in time and space in a well-composed photograph. A great photo beckons the viewer to pause and observe the art they're consuming. This act of "mandatory mindfulness" helps us  remember that anything and everything, other than this current moment we occupy, is purely illusory. This is the core belief from which my inspiration, passion, motivation, and (plenty of) frustration for this beautiful art form emerge.
